My initial thoughts, first thing out of the box is that these things are heavy! I was expecting some thin floppy rubber, but the TechSpec product looks pretty heavy duty. But I left that to the riding before I made any final decisions.
Here is what to expect when opening your box, in which I received 3 days after placing my order. Installation was pretty easy. Clean the plastics, lay’em on there and you're good. I first used a rubbing alcohol to clean the plastics, to ensure good adhesion. I applied the skins the same way for the airbox and the opposite side of the bike.
Living in tempermental NY (weatherwise), I had to break out the space heater just to be safe of proper bonding for the adhesive (fairly cold that day). During installation, I did notice one thing. When peeling the white backing paper off, 2 of the 4 skins stuck to the white waxy paper pulling glue away from the grip itself or leaving residue on the pads. Nothing that I think will affect the performance or life of the product, but something I had to mention.
Enough already, How do they work? I got a nice hard practice in and they didn’t budge one bit. The pads worked great and held up well. The only time when I really noticed the pads was in the air, where I could control the bike much better. It just felt like I could flow with the bike and take it where ever I wanted it to go.
I did notice a bit of wear on the shroud grips, right where my knee pads come in contact. You can barely notice it in the picture, but some of the tabs are worn down on the top. Besides the minor wear, they still look and work great, especially the air box skins showing no wear at all. I thought they would have started to peel or slide but these suckers aren’t going anywhere.
Basically, besides the minor wear on the shrouds, these things work great, look great, and hold up great. The best thing about these grip pads compared to others is that they don't wear down your boots and pants. If you’re looking to gain confidence in the air, get more traction between you and the bike, or just to "pimp" out your bike more, I highly suggest the Gripster MX skins.
On a side note, in the instructions it asks "Not to place the skins on top of vinyl graphics". I was specifically asked to place them on top of my graphics because they have since then improved the adhesive. They are holding up great.

Let me start off by saying this is a great product! My first thought were of sandpaper like grip sheets kind of like what is on the market now with visions of shredded pants and torn boots. But when I got my package from Tech-Spec, I found that to not be the case. This product is more like a rubber kind of sheet that will do no harm to pants or other articles of clothing that we all wear when riding.
Installation was a breeze and took a little bit of thought at first, as the directions that are included say to cut the product to the shape you need, (I guess they have universal instructions provided with the product). So after using my brain a bit, I continued with the installation, and as you can see with the pictures it is pretty straight forward. Just make sure you let it dry completely before riding otherwise I could see it moving around on you. One thing I was kind of disappointed in was the fact that the paper stuck to the gripper pads on 2 of the frame pieces. So it took some work to get the residual off. As you can see it adds a little bling to my ride as well!
Now for the test, I did a ride consisting of 130 miles of single track and desert type riding. I noticed an improvement immediately; it feels as though my legs are planted to the bike, in which makes me much more comfortable! Through whoops and desert type terrain I felt more planted than ever before on my bike. We then hit all the single track and I did not notice much there except for the faster sections where I could hold on to the bike much better with my knees, especially when standing around the air box area. One thing I noticed a bit was heading toward the wind where I could stand much more in 30+ mph winds doing 60+ mph without a lot of arm pump; THIS right here is worth the $30 bucks. All-in-all this is a very good product and helps me out a lot. When this stuff wears out I will be purchasing more.

I received the product and instantly thought the product was very strong. I cut and installed the frame grips to the tank/shroud because my after market tank was 3/8'' wider than stock.
I stand 90% of the time and I found that my control was awesome in the tight single track dodging rocks, roots and debris. They also worked well in high speed terrain where the desert whoops and the high speed turns take there toll. The product didn't move nor did it tear up my pants in over 300 miles of testing. In terms of wear, the product showed very little. I would recommend the product to anyone and once the product wears out, I will be purchasing more.
Pros and Cons (as agreed to by the group)

• In some instances, reduces arm pump
• Once it's on there, it isn’t going anywhere
• Doesn’t wear down pants and boots like other grip materials
• Great service and fast delivery
• Looks pretty sweet!
Cons

• Slight wear shown after first time used
• White backing tends to stick to back side of grip
Bottom-line
TechSpec Gripster MX Bike Grips are a nice bang for the buck, offering and additional level of improved bike control and comfort for not a lot of green.
- I race off-road professionally and with how rough, muddy and gnarly the races get I couldn't imagine riding without the Gripster Grip Skins. With how fast the pace is you need every advantage you can get and the Gripster Grip Skins definitely keep me from sliding around and helps me control the bike better. From the driest races to the muddiest races I feel I have an advantage over everyone else because I'm "All grip and No slip."

- I won my class, the overall and the championship for the 4th consecutive season. I have found your product performs very well. They are very tacky to my legs and stick great to the bike! I am still on my first set and they look great. I look forward to promoting Tech Spec this year and in the future!

- I have ridden with Tech Spec's "Gripster Grip Skins" for the past two years and can honestly say I won't run without them. I rely on gripping my bike with my legs to relieve my upper body which in turn reduces fatigue and the dreaded "arm-pump". Additionally, the product is extremely tough and durable. The set that's currently on my CRF450 has been in use for more than 9 months. With 25 plus races and numerous practice days, there is no sign these bad boys are peeling off. The first thing I'm going to set my 2005 CRF450 up with will be a set of "Gripster MX Grip Skins".

- My Gripster Grip Skins work great and stand up strong to the abuse I put them through. I've been using Tech Spec's Gripster skins for over 3 months and they are still holding strong. One minor cut but they are so durable that hasn't been an issue. If you want a true key rider modification, Tech Spec's Gripster Skins are for you.
